  • Making money at HOME COUNTRY with L1B visa

    HI,

Would it violate my visa status to earn money in my home country and with home country currency (not in the U.S.) through absence and affiliate on my blog (the servers are in my home country too)? All money will be deposited in my back in my home country. My blog is NOT in English and I am positive that it does not steal jobs in the U.S from U.S. citizens so I am assuming it does not violate L1 visa.

If it does, can I use my wife's bank account in our home country? She has L2 visa and EAD.

    Thanks

As long as you are not "working" & getting paid from that work you are fine (like investing in stock, renting a property etc. Where you are not really "working")
Its confusing to me as well, that writing a blog while you are in USA & getting money in home country would be considered as "working" or not.
Even if you are getting money outside USA, its a good idea to declare that in your tax returns in USA.

While on an L1B visa, you are typically authorized to work for the employer who sponsored your visa in the US. However, it may be possible to earn income in your home country while on an L1B visa, depending on your specific situation and the terms of your visa.

It is important to carefully review your visa documentation and consult with an immigration lawyer or advisor to ensure that any activities you engage in while on the L1B visa are compliant with the visa requirements and regulations.

There are also many legitimate ways to earn income online from anywhere in the world, including your home country. These may include freelancing, online tutoring, affiliate marketing, or starting an online business, among others.

If you are interested in exploring these options, there are many resources available online that can provide guidance and advice. Just be sure to approach any online opportunity with caution and do your due diligence to ensure that it is legitimate and legal.
It sounds like a set of general phrases with no practical advice.
On topic: using your wife's bank account is a great solution, and I wouldn't recommend getting money into your own account without notifying the IRS.

Hey there! I saw this old thread about making money online, and I wanted to pitch in. To answer your question, making money in your home country through your blog shouldn't cause any issues with your L1B visa status. As long as you're not earning income in the U.S. or taking away jobs from U.S. citizens, you should be good. It's awesome that you have servers in your home country and that you're depositing the money in a local bank account. Regarding using your wife's bank account, I'm not sure if that's okay or not. It might be best to consult with an immigration lawyer or the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) just to be safe. Anyway, there are tons of other ways of How to Make Money Online if you're interested. You can try freelancing on websites like Upwork, Fiverr, or Freelancer. Or maybe you could look into affiliate marketing or starting your own e-commerce store.

As long as your activities are unrelated to the U.S. job market and you continue to comply with the terms and conditions of your visa, earning money in your home country through your blog should not violate your visa status. I earned money via the 좋은느낌카지노 site without any issues. However, it is always advisable to consult with an immigration attorney to ensure full compliance with your specific visa requirements.
Regarding using your wife's bank account, relevant tax and banking regulations may apply, so seeking expert advice would be prudent.
